Facundo Agudin

He is a Swiss-Argentine conductor born in Buenos Aires. After completing a Master’s programme in Buenos Aires he was trained in medieval music in Bologna under Pedro Memelsdorff and completed postgraduate studies on Historical Composition at the Schola Cantorum in Basle. With the SchweizerKammerchor - Tonhalle Zurich he sings under Valery Gergiev, Claudio Abbado, Sir Simon Rattle, Armin Jordan, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Gennadii Roshdestwenskii. In 2007, he was granted the First Prize at the Colin Metters Seminar in St- Petersburg. He makes his debut at the Mariinsky Theatre wth Faust in 2015. In 2017 he’s much acclaimed in his debut at the Enescu Festival with Würth Philharmonic, in the XXI Century Series. Agudin has collaborated with artists such as Kent Nagano, Sergio Tiempo, Giuliano Carmignola, Ramon Vargas, Marcelo Nisinman, Michal Znaniecki. He recently obtained a triumph with Ramon Vargas and the RTV Slovenian Symphony.
Based in Biel/Bienne, Facundo is music director of Orchestre Musique des Lumières. He is Visiting Professor for Conducting at Buenos Aires National Arts University. Together with Daniel Barenboim and Alejo Pérez, he was nominated to the « Best Argentine Conductor » in 2015 and 2016 and was recently appointed President of the jury at the CIML-Concours de Lausanne. Agudin has conducted at Prague Chamber Orchestra, Mariinsky Theatre, TOBS Biel Solothurn, Basel Symphony Orchestra, Basel Sinfonietta, St. Petersburg Symphony, State Opera Orchestra of Armenia, Kislovodsk Philharmonic, Polish National Opera, Buenos Aires Philharmonic, National Symphony of Argentina, Teatro Argentino de La Plata, Orchestra CRT Torino, Sinfonica Aosta, Orchestra Classica Italiana, Symphonique de Besançon, Ars Nova Poitiers, Orchestre de Cannes, Würth Philharmoniker, RTV Slovenian Symphony Ukarainian National Opera.
